At UK Photographics we take the security and privacy of your personal and financial information seriously and we are committed to safeguarding your privacy online. As a business UK Photographics is built on the foundation of a long-term relationship with members and we will make every effort not to breech privacy and risk customer trust for short-term financial gain. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide us with, directly and indirectly, when you use our on-line services.

We collect and store the information that you provide in this registration process, including your user ID and password. If you engage in a transaction in the shopping area we will collect and store the information about the transaction. This may include better customer support, timely notices of new services and content better suited to your interests. We may share member information with our partners, affiliates and joint ventures that provide various services on the web site but we will require such third parties to abide by the standards of this Privacy Policy. We may also share aggregated member data, that will not include the identity of individual members, related to the activity on the Site and the use of the services provided, such as demographic and statistical data for marketing, research and other purposes. Furthermore we may need to disclose member information to law enforcement or other government officials if appropriate for your protection or in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement or other activity that is illegal or may expose us or other members to legal liability.

Removal or correction of Personal Information
Upon your request we may remove your personal information from our databases and correct any errors you identify in such information. After removal of any personal information, we will only retain copies of such information as are necessary for us to comply with government regulations, to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, enforce any agreement you have entered into through our sites and as otherwise reasonably necessary. Any Personal Information provided as part of a transaction on the Site represents a record of that business transaction that cannot be altered after the transaction is complete.

Third Parties
This privacy policy only addresses the use and disclosure of member information collected by UK Photographics. If you disclose information to other parties, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of such information regardless of their affiliation or relationship with UK Photographics.

We do not try to control, and disclaim responsibility for, information provided by other Members or third parties that is made available through our web site. Such information may contain errors, intentional or otherwise, or may be offensive, inappropriate or inaccurate, and in some cases will be mislabelled or deceptively labelled.

Site Visits
When you visit our site we will be able to identify you from the log-in information. In addition, we will collect and store the domain name and host from which you accessed the internet (e.g. freeserve.com), the IP address (a unique identification code for your PC), your browser and operating system, the date and time that you accessed the Site and the internet address of any web site from which you linked directly to our site or to which you link after visiting our Site. We use this information in a number of ways:

  • to measure the number of visitors to sections of our Site,
  • to determine from where our visitors linked when they entered our Site and to where our visitors link when they leave it,
  • to identify you and your shopping cart,
  • to administer our web Site, and
  • to help diagnose problems with our server.

This type of information is sometimes aggregated, for example to produce Site traffic statistics, and when aggregated it is sometimes shared with third parties for marketing and commercial purposes. No data relating to an individual will be passed on to third parties.

In addition, we make use of cookies, which are small files that a web site places on a visitor's hard drive to tailor and keep records of his or her visit to the Site. Cookies allow web site operators to better customise visits to the Site according to the visitors individual preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the internet, with many major web sites utilising them. Although most web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, you can usually change those settings to prevent cookies from being deposited on your hard drive, or at least notify you whenever you are about to receive a cookie so that you have the opportunity to decide whether or not to accept it. At UK Photographics we use cookies to keep track of your on-line shopping cart and its contents, and to save personal preferences that enable us to deliver content specific to your interests. The cookie itself does not tell us who you are, nor does it reveal your e-mail address or anything else personal. Even if you decline our cookies, you can still access most of the features of our Site.

Our web site contains links to other sites, but we do not pass any information to those sites. UK Photographics is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these web sites and you should check their privacy policies before sharing any private information with them.

Whenever you place an order with us, join our mailing list, participate in our forums, respond to an on-line survey or enter one of our competitions, or shop on-line with us, you will be asked to provide contact information (e.g. name, address, e-mail address etc.). We use this information to ship your order to you, contact you about any issue involving your order and/or occasionally send you information about our company.

When you place an order in our shopping area you will be conveyed to the Worldpay payment screen and you will be asked for additional information (credit card number etc.).

UK Photographics does not have access to card details unless a Member calls UK Photographics to place or complete an order on their behalf. In this case the customer's card details will be entered onto the system by UK Photographics Customer Services but the information is not stored by UK Photographics.

All your private data is secured using industry standard SSL, Thawte and World Pay unique encryption systems, which safely encrypts the data before sending it to us. Also note that we never disclose your personal information to third parties, except where required by law or in order to provide you with a requested service.

Please remember that our message board is a public forum and any information you share there immediately becomes public information, so be careful about what you disclose.

Merger, asset sales etc..
If UK Photographics or any of its lines of business is sold, pledged or disposed of as a going concern, whether by merger, sale of assets, bankruptcy or otherwise, then the member database of UK Photographics could be sold as a part of that transaction and all member information accessed by such successor or purchaser.

For future reference, UK Photographics will make a link to the current privacy policy available to you on your screen when you are on our web site. Your use of the site constitutes your agreement to this privacy policy and your assent to any modifications there to.
